Texas Tappers

Hello dear Family and Friends.

Today we toured some Natural Caverns about 30 miles from San Antonio Texas.. truly amazing!!!.....and then we played 9 holes of golf in a town called Comfort, TX.
Tomorrow am we are leaving Boerne, TX heading to Corpus Christi,TX on the Gulf of Mexico...about 200 miles from here!

We saw one flying bat while we were in the Caverns. Our guide...(the blonde gal in the red shirt in the photos) informed us that since they had a flood in 2007...the bats have migrated to caves nearby. They have estimated that there are about 2 million bats currently in the other caves. Personally I am quite pleased that they had moved on!!!

Nice to see Flowers!!!!...and butterflies!!

Our guide...red shirt..also 2 gals from Sask...on the trail down to the entrance to the Caverns

A natural stone bridge.

Entrance into the Caverns
..the walking path is smooth cement and some stairs ....about 200 feet deep

Stalagmites (ground up) and Stalactites (ceiling down)

There were 4 separate "rooms" in the Caverns

Small stalactites are called Soda Straws...the ceilings were dripping

Kim among the Stalagmites

Tapper Duo inside the Cavern

Amazing Structures...partially lighted thru out the Cavern

Bat Guano is petrifed Bat "Droppings"...its everywhere inside the caverns....lots of it...on the ceilings and floors ...not on the walking path, thankfully!!!

Buckhorn Golf Course in Comfort, TX

Look out ball....here I come!!

We've heard that the temp is quite warm at home!! The highest temp here is only about 19 degrees C...and the mornings are very cool. Hopefully, it will be warmer in Corpus Christi???
I'm sending a few photos of the amazing Caverns.
Missing you all............ Hope all is well at home......Love Kim and Linda
